I'm seeing an announcement from Sept 2000 about the pending release of CFS2.
Wow. Little did they know how much water would pass under the bridge since then.

... or what gems would be unearthed ... created ... enhanced by a hoard of basement-dwelling fans.:ernae:
Sooo, looks like a great return for your green... IMO... don
Yep. Best $50 I ever spent.

It's true, but funny. I didn't even know how to run our office computer and didn't have one at home. I was in Wal Mart one day back in 2000 and saw this big, beautiful box ... I picked it up and absorbed every word and picture on it ... $49.95 ....
Long story short, I plunked down a C-note and walked out of there with CFS2 and a Logitec Wingman Extreme joy stick ... with no idea of how or when I would ever use it.
I spent a couple of weeks just reading the pilot's manual and one day asked my partner at work if our system would support this "game" (I didn't know the concept of "sim" yet). So he installed it and when nothing was going on ... I roll over to the terminal and fire it up.
That was so long ago it's like another lifetime. Since then, I have learned how to turn on my computer (yes, I did buy one of my own), how to open explore and download (which is another story for another time ... suffice it so say, I would spend hours scrolling through the various sites ... drooling over the screen shots of exotic aircraft that I couldn't figure out how to get me hands on until a high school kid gave me a couple of hour tute and I made a template so I wouldn't forget).
End of story ... absolutely the best $50 I ever spent in my lifetime ... without a doubt. Hours of fun and when I think of all the really nice people I've met as a result of this $50 ... God ... what a sim!
And with such kudos for this sim and for prices reaching $80+ on some sights I just purchased a brand new unopened version off eBay for $1.98 total. This is to replace my missing discs which I can't seem to locate. Hope this is indeed a good purchase as it has not arrived as of yet. Only been a few days.
I can not believe however that it simply runs flawless on Vista 64! I really truly had my doubts! My luck isn't that good.
