    Spotted a flight model update over at simviation.

    http://www.simviation.com/simviation...D=64&page=1000

    I saw this Mig-21 F-13 by Ivan Jurcaga with an amazing sound set and model. The VC is okay, but not fully clickable. I've been reworking .air files and .cfg files for a few demo teams and an Abacus add on pack and decided to do this for fun. It flies much more accurately than the default flight dynamics for the aircraft and I've changed everything from the flight dynamics themselves to the rate of animation and fuel flow.

    THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Frank!!!

    I'm gonna have a go with it. I thought the initial behaviour of the flight model was somewhat "splashy". Still enjoy flying it tho... the MiG-21 is one of my all time Cold War favs.

    Some scenery to fly from. From the news page at avsim:
    LH Simulations is proud to announce the release a freeware scenery of Sármellék FlyBalaton Airport (ICAO: LHSM) for FS2004. This airport is one of the five International Airports in Hungary and is located on the west side of Balaton, the biggest lake in Hungary. In past the airport served as a base for Soviet Military Operations and was a home to more than 50 MIG-21's. However, since 1980 this airport has been serving as an International Civil Airport. For more information visit the LH Simulations Home Page.

    For this fine FSaicraft is realistic radiostack ADF you need configure it in such a way:

    ARK-11 from avsim.su (ARK_11_kompl.zip, 8896_il-18d_v2.1.zip)

    http://www.avsim.su/f/fs2004-pribori...K_11_kompl.zip
    http://www.avsim.su/f/fs2004-paneli-...l-18d_v2.1.zip

    gives you the opportunity settings, save and fast switching 9 frequency NDB.
    You can also load a previously saved file ark.11.cfg (by clicking the box in the upper-right corner)
    To assign a frequency to the key 1 / 9 should be:
    1) press the button from 1 / 9 and then set a given frequency increasing crank switch of the radio frequency spectrum and the tuning knob,
    2) the two scales are summed.
    3) in order to block pre-tuned frequency should be back to make a crank.
    It will also work Cpt. Sim. and Lago together with the switch further / closer

    in the gauges folder need to be files:

    ark11.dat //from Il-18D//
    ark11.cfg
    STT_ARK11_V1_3.gau

    configuration in panel.cfg:

    Window02=ARK-11
    (...)
    [Window02]
    Background_color=0,0,0
    size_mm=512,384
    window_size_ratio=1.000
    position=0
    visible=0
    ident=30
    window_size= 0.310, 0.360
    window_pos= 0.690, 0.630

    gauge00=STT_ARK11_V1_3!Two_ADF_Logic, 491,359,20,19
    gauge01=STT_ARK11_V1_3!ARK11_1_Pult, 1,1,510,381

    Safe landings???

    ............:isadizzy:
    This Mig is a real joy to fly!! But landig this russian monster is not easy.
    It's hard to read the airspeed and the other instruments. Actually I "survived" a "controlled"crashlanding in fs9 ( never experienced this in fs! ):d, but clicking on switches (and a red lever in front of the flightstick ) I also accidentally ejected!! Just have to do the R.T.M.F

    I have got to say, this is probably the most detailed custom model I've seen! This plane is a real beauty. One problem I'm having is that after a crash (working on the whole "landing" thing), the virtual cockpit is messed up. While it displays fine, the toggle switch in the center for the show/hide pilot, truck, etc does not work - it activates one of the avionics switches on the right side of the cockpit.

    Anyone else having this problem? I'm using FS X SP1 on Win XP SP3.

    Cheers to the author for an excellent plane

    How can i achive speeds more than 1.6 mach and altitude higher than 14500 meters? Mig 21 should reach 2.05 mach / 19000 m

    Hi,

    Maybe you can edit some parameters in the contacts points for have a stronger undercarriage ...

    This probably indicate (if your readings of speed are acurrate) a no good flight model.
    The solution is to tweak the air file and also some aircraft.cfg entries for obtain your desired realistic performances.

    As starter this is a good tutorial for all those possibles mods :

    14,500m is about what the real 21 could achieve. Egyptian and Indian pilots claim 46k feet as about all they could achieve. One Indian pilot said his only colleague to achieve Mach 2+ did it in an "unauthorized" dive.....

    I'm trying to get this aircraft to work within FS9, but am meeting with much difficulty. At start, the aircraft does not have a 2Dpanel in view and will auto stop the engine. Being that the start sequence depends on the panel, and Ctrl-M not working, this is a show stopper. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff
