    Not bad at all...

for freeware. So nice I had to update the VC. I love the way this guy built the VC on this thing. Super easy to mod out!
Speaking of which, I wish someone could develop a way to "punch" holes in the other VCs out there so we could add our own gauges this easy .

That sure is a nice looking aireoplane. Who built it? Where can a feller find one for his self to fly around in?

Looks like the Seminole by Rien Cornelisse; look for 'pa44.zip' at Avsim.

Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.

That would be the one. The panel you get will not be the one in the picture but if you have the RXP SN3308, ST3400, GNS 430 (with pro-pack), and the shockwave lights, let me know if you would want the cgfs and I'll post them up as text files. :d

PS. Anyone have an answer about the adding the gauges to the VC in other aircraft?

  5. #5
A lot of VC panels are set up with each gauge in its own little window. No way to move or resize gauges on one of those types, its part of the model. You can still swap gauges you just have to use the original locations.

Others like the one you're playing with set up the VC panel just like a 2D panel, very nice for modding.

I don't know anything about building models or vc's so I don't know why some people build one way and some build the other way.

I guess it depends on if the bezels and more particularly the gauges are modelled into the VC or if it is just a blank fascia with the 'old fashioned' gauges just plonked in there.

With the former you usually just get a grid of gauges that you cannot change the location of but using something like FS Panel Studio you can switch out the actual gauges most times (but cannot add any extra ones).

With the latter you are free to do whatever you like in terms of gauge position and type.

Making true 3D gauges is a black art all of it's own but a lot of developers (both payware and now freeware too) are moving that way as the results look so much better IMHO.

Going to glass cockpits is another trend we are seeing more of and in this case it actually improves frame rates as there are far fewer draw calls involved.

I'm planning to get my ATP rating soon. The place where I'm going to get my rating uses 2000 year model Piper Seminoles set up almost exactly like the one you posted in this thread.

It would help me a lot if I could replicate this panel. Can you post the cfgs please or you can send them to me directly at xpanelsoftware @ xpanelsoftware.com (No Spaces)

    Thanks a bunch!

Ooops, forgot but never saw my bump :redf: Thanks X.

Here it is. remember you need the appropiate RXP gauges and run your congiurators after.

Also, this is for the 16X9 panel as I have a wise screen set-up myself. You van try it in the others but can't guarantee how it will work.

    Have fun,

    LouP,

I'll make sure I purchase the additional gauges. I normally run a standard aspect screen connected to my wide screen laptop so I should be able to accommodate either aspect ratio as necessary.

At the risk of looking silly (because I haven't even looked at the 16x9 VC seminole panel yet) how did you get the tan color panel. Did you repaint the .bmps? If so, can I get a copy?

    Thanks for the file!

    LouP,

    While I'm imposing...

I notice that your cfg references a file called throttle.bmp. I can't find that file anywhere in my FS2004 directory. I recently downloaded the pa44.zip from Avsim. Any ideas why I don't see that file?

    Thanks for your help!

    LouP,

After some digging I found a Seminole download at www.flightsim.com that seemed to have my missing bmps.

I think I'm set for now. I'll post back if I have more issues.

    Have a great day!

Great, you won't regret purchasing the rxp gauges. Ive, been slowly collecting them for a while and everytime I get a new one I say to myself, why did I wait so long. I just picked up the FLT set today and they seem really nice so far but I am still playing with them. All I gave left to get are the FLNs and I will have them all. :ernae:

Anyone ever find any re-paints or a paint kit for this bird?

    Thanks,
    LouP
