    New Tailwind for FS2004! (yep, FS2004)

    Hey guys (and gals)

    Tired of only seeing planes come out for FSX 'only' ? Me too... I thought you would like to see some screenshots of the new Tailwind. Testing it now. PURE FS2004..... :d (yes, it will come with an FSX version as well, pure FSX).

    Screenshots by the great prop meister himself, Robert 'BannanaBob' Rivera

    Note; These are 2 different planes. One (orange W10) is faster, 3 bladed prop, different rudder and side windows, door, panel. The second, (blue and white) is the W8, older design, straight windows, full plexi roof, swept back rudder like a Maul, very small and basic panel, slower speeds. The W8 comes with fairings and non fairings landing gear.

    The W10 maxes out at 200 MPH and cruises at 180 MPH. (Thats MPH, not Knots).

    I was wondering what this was this weekend....also....what clouds are being used in Bob's sim? They look awesome in his screenshot in the cockpit.

    Thats an early Tailwind, the W8 with the very first rudder. My package comes with 2 later rudder versions that came after that one.

    Note he doesnt have the rear quarter windows either. Many builders changed their plane designs here and there to their own tastes. A good way to tell which version the builder made the plane of (W10 or W8) is the rear door edge. If its straight, top to bottom, its a W8 (early model) and if it has some angles going on in it (two edges), then its the W10.

    Many rudders on these...

    Very small wings as well. The fuselage acted as a wing, with lift generated accross its top, it increased the wing area, compensating the narrow wingspan, which helped to decrease drag and increase speed.

    It was said that Steve Wittman was able to break the rules of square edges not being aerodynamic.

    Oh yeah

    I first saw the post for the FSX release and thought not another " .... I wish we had that for FS2004 .... "

    But we die hards are going to have our own pocket rocket to play with.

    Thank you.

    Pete.

    OH man... I wish. I would love to build that one. Badly.

    Presently, its;
    * Convert Trinidad to FSX
    * Create Epic Victory
    * Create Fanliner
    * Create '------'

    So it could be a while... Long while. Unfortunately it takes a long time to make these birds. I wish I could do them in a month or so.. Like Tim does.. man.. Would be nice to see the list get smaller instead of larger. :d
