Robert, I think we have a Wibault 12 Scirroco here ?
Robert, I think we have a Wibault 12 Scirroco here ?
Mike, I have it as the Wibault 121, but I will not be too picky.
Over to Scotland.
Thank you Robert - it seems unlikely that we will ever post a non-controversial French machine ! The books say that the Wibault 121 was the same as the 12 Sirocco, with the addition of 'wing guns'. (I've never seem a photo of that installation - does anyone have it?) Your photo says Wibault 12 on the tail unit......
To make matters worse, the Vickers-Wibault 121 was a different machine altogether...
Now I'm not averse to a spot of recycling - this floater with its happy pilot was posted quite a few years ago -none of the then regulars got it - I'm sure today's crack shots will have this one identified right away.
Well that was the "Aiglon-Roulier flying-boat from 1917"

Thanks Uli. How about this pleasing tourer?
Hi Kevin
Maybe the 1954 Faust Model 3 (301) by Elmer Faust, using PA-12 and F-24W parts/components?
My guess is purely based on the b/w striping of the tail, which on colour pics is blue/yellow.
It is the one and only Faust. Last seen as a float plane somewhere in Alaska.
Over to Walter-
I had never heard of this one until a couple of weeks ago. This aerobatic tandem 2-seater already flew 2013.
She is European, but country of origin may be surprise. Engine is a Lycoming AEIO-360 and she is stressed for +7/-4G.
Steel tube/alu covered fuselage, alu wings.
This is the Laros-100 from the Laros Design Bureau from Russia. Seems the DB is a fan of the New Zealand rugby team.
Registration is RA-1989G
The door is wide open, so do not hesitate......
It looks a bit primitive for a 1997 aircraft!
Hi fabolousfour
The all-red Aero Car 3 by Joseph L. Halsmer in final form (4-wheel u/c arrangement). N9085C.
Here a photo in original form with conventional tri-gear
Nothing more to add, Walter!
And thanks for the photo, I didn't know that.
Haven`t had an ag-plane for a while. It is not a Texas aggie!
According to your recent preference for the East and an according similarity: an MVEN Fermer-2?
update: MVEN T-500, RA-2341G

Hi giruXX
My interest in "Eastern" aircraft lies simply in the fact that they are quite active overthere (on light aircraft)
The aggie is indeed the prototype MVEN T-500. The Fermer-2 is somewhat smaller.
Your turn, sir

As a matter of interest, can you tell me why nearly all modern 'plastic' aircraft are white ?
Is it the same reason that most vans are white, i.e it is a lot cheaper than other colours ??
Hi Mike
I think it has to do that dark surfaces may have negative effects on strength, durability etc. because of Ultra Violet(?) ray influences.
No doubt someone else in our community can explain it much better.
