I must lay off the absinthe. I thought that I'd started to see pink elephants but I'm relieved to find that it's only a RN Sikorsky R-6 Hoverfly II!

    That's her, Mike.
The picture was taken at Farnborough in 1950 where according to my source not just one but three of these disguised Hoverflys where shown!

    Santé

    Starck AS-70 Jac ?

  6. #23881
Indeed it is - and I didn't even have to mention Nénadovitch in the clue! A toast to Scotland . Take it away, Mike.

  9. #23884
Was the photograph taken at Shoreham Airport or did other airfields also have that distinctive fuel pump structure?

    Heston, Mike, August 1st 1936.

YR-CGS belonging to Prince Constantin Soutzo. Full marks to Jim

150hp Siemens-Halske. Decent power, unlike that wee Starck. 9 cylinders and that big lump of engineering for 45 hp ? Nuts.

  15. #23890
Thanks Jim. Here is a not-too-difficult floater.
