I think that you're safe, SC. It seems we've had the 1 and 5 but not the two in between.

Message sent to Darren. Open house if no update by the end of the day.

    Thanks-

That is a nice picture of the rather unsuccessful Douglas DC-5.

  11. #21311
I think it is in the sense of the thread when I do a new mystery without confirmation.

    What about this floater?

Once more upon the waters ! yet once more !
And the waves bound beneath me as a steed
    That knows his rider.

Stranger than fiction; if it could be told, .....'

So, my greatly worshipped high-born Lords Mike and Mike, as it seems that both of you might have a vague idea about the identity of the Craft, would it be foolhardy from me and too much to ask for the name of it?

  15. #21315
Please excuse the poetic digression, Robert. Blame it on the lockdown - there is now some evidence that it affects one's mental health....

Your neat 'phibian is the Byroncraft A1, I believe.

  16. #21316
It is indeed the Byron Byroncraft A1, Mike
Thought that the mystery would last a bit longer since there is no picture at aerofiles.

    Slàinte

By the way, is it just me who feels that the thread has become rather silent? Uli and Walter seem to have retired, Carlo (hope he is well!) still in quarantine...

  17. #21317
There have been times previously when we thought it had dried up, Robert, and, naturally, there are a limited number of subjects that haven't been covered before !

I have been away today - for a haircut !! (what a relief after all these weeks - looking in the mirror was like going back to the Seventies...).

Will ty to look out a new mystery shortly, but in the meantime if anyone else has something ready, please feel free !

Re Carlo, sent him an e-mail a couple of weeks ago without replay. Let's hope he is OK.

Here's someone wearing the wrong size boots..

My best guess Parnall Plover. There's a couple others it could be.

    Chris

  20. #21320
No, you're right with the Plover, Chris. Over to you....(no beer!)

  21. #21321
    Not a crash

    Cool

    Chris is flexing his knowledge...

  23. #21323
Kevin knows that this aircraft is in Aerofiles

    Chris

  24. #21324
Waldo Waterman Flex-Wing or Variable-Wing Monoplane or CLM Special (the same aeroplane seems to have used all three designations)?

  25. #21325
Mike right on over to you

    Chris
