I was being cryptic to allow others to jump in. T'was a bit unfair for me to reply directly as I'd literally just finished reading a post elsewhere about the MAK family when Jim posted his mystery. Ivan probably Gallicized the spelling when he emigrated west. Besides, with an annual general meeting of an association to run tomorrow I had no time to dig up a new challenge. It's taking all my time to assemble the Kevlar body armour for the meeting.
