It reminds me a little of the Douglas World Cruiser as the front end looks similar.

Enough hints, and we'll get there. This stodgy brute is the Elias EM-1.

  4. #16104
Right on Lefty. Over to you

    Chris

Thanks Chris. As I said, your last hint, together with the assistance of Mr Larkins, helped a lot !
    Sticking with biplanes (sorry Walter...)

By the way, this image has not been photoshopped in any way whatsoever.....

This one never went anywhere near Japan. Those roundels are not Rising Suns - not sure what they are - they are European, but it isn't a French machine.

Indeed - a Spaniard in the works - over to you - a nice glass of chilled manzanilla-

(Having difficulty tracking down that insignia - if anyone can provide a better illustration I'd be grateful)

Looks German. How about that for deductive reasoning.

I found some likeness to Albatros designs but nothing quite like that....
    Cheers

It's not German and the plane is named after the country it comes from.
It was built only once (and still exists in a museum!).

No deductive reasoning, just a visit to Václav Němeček's Československá Letadla, and there you will find the Bohemia B-5. Powered by a NAG engine. Just like someone I know......

    Thanks to Mike
That was my source as well. Enjoy a good Bohemian (Pilsener)

Named after the pooch, it's the Fulda Windhund.

  18. #16118
That's the one, and, as all dog owners know, there's nothing worse than a windy hound - - over to Texas

I have it as the RRG - (Rhon Mobel Werke) MM1 Martens Windhund..

A Greyhound with a Douglas motorcycle engine - in this case a 600cc overhead twin with a 2:1 reduction gear.

Hmm, getting into slightly murky waters again ! This is the Descamps A.2 - this version, with the W-12 Lorraine-Dietrich 450hp motor, is also called the DB-17.

    I think.

It could, of course, also be called a Caudron ......

engine therefore you are perfectly spot on. Waiting now for your remarkable surprise...
