That second engine won't be a lot of use.

Uli, I think that is the Latécoère 28-3 Comte de la Vaulx, which crossed the south Atlantic in May 1930. Thank you for bringing that one up !

Thanks Lefty, nearly couldn't dodge that bullet.Click image for larger version.

Thanks Uli. Afraid I have nothing very interesting for a mystery - just a rather bland trainer......

1940. From an established company, but prototype only. Named after a type of sparrow.

All of which prevents me from posting another FMA product I had earmarked for future use.

What'll that take to solve, 5 minutes?
    Andy

  15. #24915
That's a long five minutes, so far!

As a wise man once said "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so". Maybe people are looking for their towels?

I think that this mystery might be the 1934 Nemeth Parasol and, if so, I would have thought that those on the other side of 'the pond' would have snapped it up by now!

  18. #24918
Yes, it's right up our Texan friend's street, but he is taking a back seat these days..might take an obscure twin-boomer to tempt him out ...

It is the Nemeth Parasol, a fascinating early excursion into the field of STOL.

    Thank you, Andy.

I'm afraid that I can't offer an obscure twin boomer, to tempt Kevin from his lair, but here's something that, at least, is obscure. Only three were built and this is the prototype.

  21. #24921
My lair is full of guitars. Not a bad place.

Looks like a nifty Transland AG-2 aggie.

    The Pitcarin AWACS Autogyro?

  23. #24923
Let me think a minute, the radar array doubles as an airfoil? I like it!

  24. #24924
Yep, made in North America; photographed in South America; apparently now in New Zealand. This is the prototype Transland AG-2 when it was CX-AYC. Suds to Kevin.

So what will be the next aeronautical mystery from Texas. A Gibson Flying V2?

    Fender Stratovercaster more likely
