Wout, you're on song just now - Skyshark it is.
Wout, you're on song just now - Skyshark it is.
Easy one.
So much for easy! This is a new one for me.
Thai, known as RTAF-5, intended to be a preparatory trainer for the North American OV-10 Bronco
Yann!!!!
Good to see you back spotting again.
Hi Kevin, thanks for the warm welcome Howdy ?
I do pop in every now and then and have a glimpse at the mystery - but usually have no clue. This one's an exception You're all far better spotters than I am...
Since I'm quite sure about the answer, let's move on:
As Yann correctly guessed, indeed the RTAF-5. It is now in the Bangkok Air Museum.
The new one is a trainer again, the Fanaero (Fabrica Nacional de Aeronaves) from Chile. Built 1955 and aimed at Chilean AF. Only 2 were built
Wout gets it!
Some sources give it as the Fanaero-Chile Chincol.
Over to you
how about this streamlining. Sorry for the bad quality of the pic.
Correct . Look forward to your next one!
Thanks. Something a little different from me...
Not very good on whirlies, but better nip in quick before James surfaces. This is a Westland-Cierva CL 20.
I will post on - the Cierva is right I think - here's an easy one -
Sikorsky S-43.

Belated for Lefty on the ersatz chopper.
Interesting pic of the French S-43!
Try this one. Wing struts on a "modern'' low wing.'
Bonus for the name of the designer.
3:isadizzy: hints. Italian designer is also known for other aircraft in that part of the world (those aircraft were not candidates for the title most streamlined designs) in that part of the world and the manufacturer produced a couple of other aircraft. The country's soccer players wear green/yellow outfits
Well thanks for the BIG hint, Wout ! (Looking in all the wrong places as usual)
I think we must be talking about Mr Luigi Pellarini here, designer of the notorious Transavia Airtruk, and that's where I am beginning to get confused.
My first reference to this aircraft is as the Victa R.2, from New South Wales, whose designer was one Henry Millicer.
Somewhere along the line it morphs into the Transavia PL13, but maybe Victa built it under commission ?
I have also seen a PL-13 described as the Pellarini Air Jeep, a military sesquiplane, but can find no info or photos anywhere.
Aussies please help !
Left, this is for the correct answer and this is the bonus
As far as I understand the Victa R-2 was a design of Luigi Pellarini. I am not familiar with the role of Mr. Henry Millicer in the R-2. Of course Mr. Millicer designed and built the original all-wood Airtourer and this was in metal form later built by Victa Ltd and then the design emigrated to New Zealand.
During his Australian years Mrf. Pellarini was quite active.
First the PL-7 Tanker of Kingsford-Smith, then the PL-11 Airtruck (with a c) of Waitomo-Bennet in New Zealand and of course the PL-12 Airtruk (without c) in which Mel Gibson escaped from unfriendly peoplel.
The Pellarini Skyjeep was (as far as I know) never flown, but attached a picture. In his Italian days Mr. Pellarini was also responsible for the PL-5 Aerauto
Attached some pictures, just for fun
