She looks a bit like the AVA AF-2 "D-IAFZ" but the engine definitely doesn't tally....

I'd rather go for a Salmson Phrygane.

  4. #15929
    Sorry, not from Europe.

The engine looks very Siemens-like. Might be the Gillis Crusader.

  6. #15931
    Sorry Robert

The engine is a Kinner B-5.

Had a Ryan vibe at first glance but not anymore. She is a funky design!

  8. #15933
Didn't find any suitable plane with this engine on aerofiles.

  9. #15934
I hoped the weed were a good clue: that's all in the taiga!

The illustrious designer has only built two airplanes. No photos exist from the first one and this one is the second in its first form. First flight: 1 July, 1935.

Give us enough hints, Uli, and eventually some of our grey cells will wheeze into action !

This is the Van Valkenburgh Bayamo monoplane. . Nice one.

  11. #15936
Mike, would you mind to tell us how you found that kite?

  12. #15937
Indeed - it was the mention of 'taiga'. Russia was already ruled out, and obviously some of you had been trawling Aerofiles without success.

That left Canada, and as luck had it, I embarked on a back-to-front search of the Putnam 'Canadian Aircraft since 1909'. There she was !

  13. #15938
Thanks, Mike, I tried googling for that Canadian plane, but without that luck you had.

Sometimes printed paper seems much more favourable than imaginary bytes

Well I was beginning to think that all those lovely books I bought after retirement had been rendered redundant in this electronic age, but they have their uses !

  15. #15940
The goes to Mike of course, whose grey cells worked well again

Thank you, sir. I'll resist the urge to subject you to another floater and put up a modest biplane - lots of clues here......

That looks very much like a Gerner G.II.

  18. #15943
Actually in its later incarnation as the Adler G.II.Rc, but we'll not split hairs! Over to ff....

  19. #15944
    Thanks, Mike!

    Something slightly bigger now.

Could that be a Bernard 192T?
    Cheers

(Although it's hard to tell a difference between the 190 and the 192)

    Hi Carlo
Could this be the Leningradets Sport (1962) by L. Kostin, L. Sekinin and Valery Tatsiturnov from the Leningrad area?

    Hi Walter!
That's her the Leningradetz Ленинградец flown in 1962 by Taciturnov Sekirin Kostin. May I add that if you should require additional information on such like russian amateur aircrafts please Google Ленинградец (not Leningradetz) and you will find factual information on further items like "Aist", "Riiga", "Malysh" etc (many sites admit (horrible) Google translation)
    Cheers
    Your turn of course
    Carlo
