That's it and it was quick.
    Good work.

    Thanks Chris.

    Something a little quirky...

  5. #15755
Designed by a German, powered by a French engine and assembled in America...

  6. #15756
Looks like the strange plane built by Adolph Schad in 1927.

    Don't know of any designation.

  7. #15757
    Good show Robert!

Here is a really detailed article about the unusual airplane if interested (and where the photo came from).

    Great!
Many thanks for that article, Kevin, very interesting!

Here's a quick one (I hope). Must be solved in the next ~ 18 hours since then I will be offline for a short while.

The house was a good starter - surely Italian ! It's the Reggiane Re2000 Serie 1 Falco.

  10. #15760
    That's it, Mike!

Hadn't thought that this could be solved by the architecture

  11. #15761
All clues are helpful, ff ! Here's another radial job - not much Italian design flair here, I fear......

Mike has gone Brit on us with the Folland 43/37 testbed fitted with the Centarus engine.

That's the one - - also described as the Fo. 108 - over to the Wild West....

  14. #15764
Thanks. Here is an overly braced monoplane that I don't think has appeared before.

    Hello everybody!
She looks like an overly modified McDonnell "Doodlebug"...
    Cheers

Nothing related to McDonnell. This was a late 1930's design.

  17. #15767
From a small design team. There are a couple of photos that can be found on the web.

  18. #15768
It's an awfy big web, Kevin ! Can't find this in the usual places - it looks a flimsy effort indeed - wouldn't fancy a heavy landing on that gear - and very dated for late 30's......is that a Kinner up front ?

  19. #15769
Velie up front Mike. First flown in late 1938 I believe.

Here is an earlier photo of it. Looks like an open cockpit at first.

Could it be the Shepard Krum SC-1 Sportcraft ?

You got it Uli. A lot going on in Oregon about that time.

  22. #15772
Thank you Kevin! What I like most in this thread is that so many shape-less (aerofiles, etc.) entries now become a face.

Hélas, I couldn't find any visual proof of the Shepard Krum on the web.

Here is another but better documented exotic.

    hi giruXX
The Farnham FC-1 Fly-Cycle N201A. She had a control bar like that used on a motorbike and the pilot rode the FC-1 astride (is that the proper word?).
