It looks like, but I very much doubt that it is, a modernised version of the Piaggio P.149.

I'm not sure of it's heritage but that's not close to what I have for it. I'll check later if I can find anything since not my area of expertise. Just looked not from the P.149

For the avoidance of doubt, Chris, I'm not suggesting that it is a modernised P.149. I do not believe that there was any modern development of the model. There's a lot of difference between something looking like a modernised P.149 and being a modernised P.149!

The thick wings (Hurricane) and the nose shape (Fury/Hurricane) make me think this must be a Hawker.
Is it a Hawker Henley?

It is a Henley.
Take it away Huub.

That wasn't too difficult. This sturdy bi-plane should not be a problem for most of you.
Cheers,

Nothing to add! It is indeed the Italian Ro.37 bis by the Industrie Meccaniche e Aeronautiche Meridonali (IMAM) in the colours of the Condor Legion.
Over to you Chris.
Cheers,
Huub

You might guess the aircraft type but something unique sets it apart.

This one came along in 1949. Was later heavily modified (that version has appeared in here previously).
Powered by two Continental engines.
