Well, this isn't going to last long either I'm afraid.
Hmmm, almost 24 hours and not a word from anyone.
It's the weekend, dear boy - nice weather - too many other distractions (and garden chores).
Will have a wee look today.
Hmm, is it a Lockheed design?
Brian
negative on the Lockheed - not even in that hemisphere
An Eastern European bird, and Moses still slumbers - better dive in.
It is a Rumanian I.A.R.-22
IAR-22 it is.
Over to you sir.
Thank you.
Another floater - rather a smart one.
Caproni Ca. 316 MM.
Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.
Caproni 316 it is, Ferry !
(Not sure about the MM - is that not the beginning of its serial number - the Matricola Militare ? )
You are probably right Mike; my Italian is not that good so I wasn't sure if the 'MM' was part of the name or the serial..
Next one, a photo that was 'photoshopped' quite a bit, but this was most likely done by the original photographer or the factory:

Fiat AS1...
That was a very old typo in fact, so please proceed Moses
Well then, have a look at this 5 engines flying boat
The large floater is a Richard-Penhouet 2, from la Belle France.
If fasm doesn't mind, I'll press on - Moses is champing at the bit - I think the Texas heat is getting to him - better provide a new mystery to calm him down a bit.
I've photoshopped out anything remotely helpful in this shot , including, natch, the name on the placard !
By the way, this may look like a floater, but it ain't...
Dead easy. Weymann 50. No wait, better make that a Weymann 52.
(It was in my queue as well)
Weymann 52 it is. Oh dear, I am dreading the next one............
Yes, the heat is getting to me. I spent more time in the kiddie pool yesterday than our 3yr old.
Here is a rare one-
to lefty :ernae:
I was right to be apprehensive. Moses' twin looks sooooo familiar, but can't pin it down.
Background looks American. Paint job too. Hmmm.
Yup, the flashy paint is a good indicator. (I think that's a Model T in the background as well). This one was converted from a single-engined number with the same paint scheme...
Nah, life's too short - tail looks a bit Kinner-ish but just don't know.
