Okay, I have an inkling what this might be but won't be able to check until about nine hours from now after I'm home. (Unless someone beats me to it!)

Your pic is awful but she looks a bit like the Mitsubishi Ki-157...but I'm not convinced I'll keep on trying....

No, Carlo, she's a girl from the sunny USA - just found it, but in deference to Moses whom I 'gazumped' last time, I'll leave it to him !
Apart from the tail this plane has a striking similarity to a bird at aerofiles, but since I'm new here should I wait for Moses' answer or may I post my guess?
Please proceed fellas! I'm not even sure at this point.
Thanks, so my guess goes to the Edwards XMBM-1.
The known photos show a twin fin, but the text at aerofiles says there must also have been a single fin version.
This one-off twin-prop flew with twin- and single-fins.

I would say, FF, that is a Nakajima-Fokker Super Universal. I wonder what's in the crates ? Silkworms ?
Could you please be a bit more specific?
The name Fokker doesn't appear in the designation.
I will tell you the contents of the boxes when the mystery is solved.
I must apologize, but having checked my books I found that the answer I was hoping for is wrong.
The correct designation for the type is indeed Nakajima-Fokker Super Universal and not Nakajima Ki-6 which I wanted to read. The latter designation relates only to military aircraft and this one is obviously civil.
So lefty's answer is perfectly correct
I hope I didn't cause too much confusion.
The text on the back of the photo is as follows:
Over to leftyFire-flies that were brought to the capital by an airplane
In order to gladden the eyes of H.I.H. the Crown Prince, the children of farming villages in Kyushu district gathered nearly 20.000 fire-flies which were brought to the capital on May 31.
Our photo shows the fire-flies that were brought to the capital by a plane.
Thanks FF - the Ki-6 was a bit different anyway - 3-blade prop and fat tyres....
Here's a floater (amphibian) which may have been here before, but I can't find it - nice and grainy -
Indeed, BG, the H23 - totally different from the H23/2 !
Thanks Lefty!
Here's my today's mystery and sorry for the delay boys and girls.....
Cheers

Probably wrong, but it looks very much like a Bristol F2B, in prototype form with Falcon engine.

I thought it were solved
The right answer should be "The first Bulgarian Tourer B-BECA at Filton in April 1924"

Time for a more recent twin, perhaps?

It's got to be a Ted Smith designed Aerostar, & probably a 600 from the grainy picture, but was it made by the original Aerostar, American Cement Co, Butler/Mooney or Piper?
