Batwing XI?
By the way, did every German aircraft manufacturer have a model called the 'D.III'..?

Batwing NX15543 of 1937 it is!
Please Ferry, don't go digging for any more D.III's
Well, next time I think it looks German, I'm just going to say "D.III"!
Here's something that might have been an inspiration for Luigi Stipa perhaps..?

Simply the Jourdan Airplane.
Here is a short but interesting story about it:

Semi-clad canard pusher for you all. A bit grainy eh?
The Italian SCA SS.3?
BTW While looking for info on Stipa I found this:

Guess it would take a very big engine to rotate that propeller...

I have it as the SS.2 but the 2 and the 3 looked very much alike. More ale for the Dutchman.
From photos I found on the net the SS.2 was a single-seater with an open cockpit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27862259@N02/8011645477/ (More of both the SS.2 and SS.3 in that same album.)
While the SS.3 was a twin-seat design with an enclosed cockpit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sdasmarchives/5955751659/

Good find on the photos Ferry. I stand corrected.
That tail looks like an Albatros design but I think it's a trap...
Ferry's neat tourer is unmistakeably Arado, and is the L.II (which either means number eleven or a Roman 2 - have seen both interpretations !)
This is the original version with unbraced wing - the later IIa had a braced folding wing and different gear.
According to one site, the original prototype had twin tails, but I've never seen a photo. Anyone ??

For Lefty's attention:
Sorry I've never seen it with twin tails....... The L-II had a nice nickname "Treff-Ass" (Ace of clubs)
Baragouin
Here's another neat little racer. European. Not much on the net about it, but from a recognised manufacturer.
I agree about the wing, but this one is not German. Salmson engine.
Enough. This is the Albert A.120. OH please, gentlemen..
OK - I don't think that this will last long - but you never know!

:salute:Too easy!!!! A beer for the gent - over to you.
Keith
Hello Keith!
Please forgive my ignorance...I don't seem to be able to locate any information concerning Airpin A1.
Would you be kind enough to supply some information about this twinboom or direct me to a useful link?
Cheers
Baragouin
Never mind Keith I found all I needed....
Very possibly, Baragouin ! In fact definitely - F-AIVA it is in Jane's 1931 also. There it is called the A-120, but we are at the mercy of French aircraft builders here, whose appellations were capricious at best and designed to confuse les Anglais. Only M.Albert will really know.
