It's the Fairchild 21

Walter used to pick off these types fast.
I haven't a clue!
see, what Walter told us about her: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...=1#post1072075
To move on let me offer this:

This aircraft is a modified military aircraft that was prepared for a famous Air Cup in another country. Unfortunately, I cannot say how it performed there.

powered by a 300hp Hispano-Suiza, flown in 1920

I found a racer from Borel without any designation at the secretprojets-site which I think is the same plane.
Found this as well, answering Uli's question as to how it performed in the Gordon-Bennett. It didn't !
The French team had been chosen in an eliminating trial on Sunday, when the three pilots mentioned above were selected. Barault, on a Borel-Hispano, would probably have secured the third place if he had only flown the course as it was arranged.

It is the Borel Gordon-Bennett Racer!
Thank you Mike for the extra information in the race.

Another biplane, slightly more modern.
From a well-known European manufacturer. Not a one-off.
From the many different aircraft types of this manufacturer only four were biplanes, two of which remained prototypes and one (not this one) was built in large numbers.
Is that a Focke-Wulf S.24, Robert ?
Indeed it is, Mike, a Focke-Wulf Kiebitz that found its way to the Netherlands.
Over to Scotland.
Thank you Robert. I was working on the premise that, if a poster leaves registration marks or other ID on a mystery, it is nearly always a red herring (or in this case an orange one..)
Here is one a little older, and a lot bigger....
I'm quite sure you are all hanging back here for another one that's too easy.
A rare bomber from a company producing fighters, transports and racers......
OK folks, can't let this linger - I'm airborne at 8.00 tomorrow morning (weather permitting) so will have to reveal the Bernard AB-1 from 1918.
Open House, please, and see you all in a couple of weeks.
Thanks Kevin. Unfortunately my doubts about weather were justified - flight delayed by 24 hrs. Nasty winds in Madeira - nothing landed yesterday - and I for one am quite happy to wait till it's a bit calmer.
Gone a bit quiet in here.
Something odd to stir things up?
One built in 1935. The designer was known for unusual designs.
I'm completely stumped. I assume that the machine is in an incomplete state. I can't work out what it is or what it's meant to do or how it's meant to fly. I've never seen the like of it before. I'll have to throw in the towel.
