alas, it might not be terribly expensive, but there's no indication of austerity

Thanks Rob. Never knew it was red!

    Here is a grainy monoplane...

    That's better! It's the Notteghem LN.01 of 1951 with a 60hp Walter Mikron upfront

    Thank you, Kevin.

Here's something of an earlier vintage. The number of mainplanes should narrow the field of choice - and there's a clue as to the location of the photograph to be found in its background!

No, Chris, that's not the .... - alright, I'm pulling your leg! But you've not offered the location, despite the obvious clue!

    Oh and yes, Hanriot H.38?

Close, but no cigar. The photograph was taken at Cow[e]s!

I'm off to bed, so the next challenge will have to wait until tomorrow.

    Apologies for the delay.

As I know someone was miffed to miss the last floater, here's another one from an earlier period.

........ It came to an unfortunate end ......

  23. #21298
Indeed it did, but through no fault of its own or that of any human - and its designer/constructor then went back to his day job, in which he was far more successful. Interestingly, the photograph was taken only a few hundred metres from where once I lived.

    ...... Near Shoreham airport ?

  25. #21300
Nearer to Shoreham Beach. This was the last of a series of early biplanes - for operation from both land and water - produced by the same man. He was an artist of some reknown, whose works are exhibited extensively in British public galleries.
