    Spot-on, Carlo !

This was the prototype-DAR 10A (registered 1/7076) prior to testing by Ings Popganchev and Lazarov, whom I presume are the two gentlemen in raincoats, despite a sunny day....

    Over to Tuscany.

    Norwegian Breda Ba.28, I think.

  8. #19583
You think right, Mike, it is the Breda in Norwegian service.

I had hoped that the insignia on the tail would puzzle you some seconds.

    Your turn

  9. #19584
Thank you Robert - and not as quickly as you think. I had to trawl through the entire output of the Marinens Flyvebaatfabrikk first.....

Here's a flivver that wasn't built in Norway either -

Hi Lefty! Maybe you don't know the story of the payment of the lot of Breda 28 by the Norwegians to the Mussolini's regime...well, ascertained the fact that Italy and Nigeria are respectively n.1 and 2 in the world of stockfish eaters (on Friday almost every italian family eats his stockfish which is prepared in a million different ways depending on the region) Mussolini decided that payment should be made in stockfish which they (the norwegians) promptly did! By the way I have no idea whether the stockfish was as bad as the Breda's proved to be! (only 4 remained active then passed on to the civilians….)
    Cheers

What a fascinating story, Carlo ! Stockfish is something we are not really familiar with in the UK, as we always have plentiful fresh fish, and in Scotland we don't eat cod at all. It is also very popular in Madeira (I'll be back there next month) although we haven't had the courage to eat it !

Well done with the small Japanese - you are on the ball these days....

    Hi Mike!
something off-topic please! I suggest that while in Madeira you should try "bacalao" (I'm not sure of the spelling as my portuguese is somewhat rusty) especially in a tomato and garlic sauce: try it and you'll be (pleasantly) surprised!
As I'm going out for a very late and (alas) rather formal dinner tonight I hope you all folks don't mind if I defer my next mystery till Tomorrow morning…
    Cheers
    Carlo

Very difficult to find views/drawings of aircraft from behind at all.

My closest guess would be the Kyushu Q1W Tokai, but not sure about that.

I thougth I should stay with my glass of Tokaji

Thanks, Green, would love to know the source of the Kyushu drawing.

The next mystery is definitely not Japanese.
