Well I suspected as much, Chris. At least it explains why there is a shortage of other images !

Re the flags - as I understand, the rainbow flag has been commandeered by the LGBT community - what it's doing at an airshow is anybody's guess........and Robert, the Hawaiian flag is unique in still incorporating the Union Jack !

The pic was taken at Sun'n Fun in 1996. Engine is a 40 HP Kawasaki.
The company went on to make UAVs - the first being called Tarzan, for the US Navy...

Green has given us the answer but you are all being reticent.....

Let's move on - this is the Theiss Speedster from Salem OH.

Not a washing machine motor this time - it's from a snowmobile!

  4. #18779
Is it a snowmobile in a blizzard - a total white out - because I can't see anything attached to your post, Mike!

Afterthought: could your mystery be Westland Widgeon IIIA CF-AIQ which, apparently, was converted to a snowmobile in 1946?

Interesting photo Carlo, never seen it before. Kind of reminds me roughly of a 3/4 scale Caproni Ca.405 (basic shape) but I know that is a wild guess.

I've been digging around and found a few four-engined bomber projects - the nearest appear to be the Caproni CA204 and thePiaggio P.133. I know mock-ups and wind-tunnel models were done.....

    Good morning gentlemen!
I think you're a bit off the track...this is the mock-up of a would-be french bomber: the Dewoitine D-800 which by the way would have been next in line with yesterday's mystery!
    Cheers and open house please
    Carlo

    Very close Mike:
Donot know whether the story is true, but only one was completed since the kits were delivered with one box short and that box held the instruction sheet.
It it helps, the aircraft had a Continental O-200-A engine, first flew 1979 and had upward foldable wings.

    Perhaps the Neumann-Everett N-2 N2287D?

As so often in the past I couldn't find a picture of it...

    Hi fabulousfour
Please take away the perhaps. This IS the Neumann N-2 .
Sadly lost in a fatal crash June 1985 (source NTSB)

    Your turn sir!

From a well known, but not very successful manufacturer who built several models of aircraft but only one that was produced in considerable numbers.

  24. #18799
Despite the "tail art" the plane is not from the US.

The well known founder of the company was a colorful personality but ended tragically.

Couzinet? He was well known in the milieu …. and he did die tragically (with his wife)……..the only hitch is that he never sold anything in substantial quantity!
    Cheers
