Wisdom comes with age Uli. Although according to PH Mike, I'm 21!
Oh, and I see you found the Jackson Versatile I...
Hi Kevin,
I fully agree (and in our minds we'll stay forever young)
A pint for you

Here is a comfort zone twin boomer for some.
Lefty will enjoy the mostly white finish.
I think this is the Wolfsberg Sparrow from the Czech Republic.
Czech one off the list. Suds for Robert.
Let's go back to the good old times.
If you will all forgive just one more intrusion, then I'll shut up !
On smaller GA aircraft, are they actually painted at all ? (apart from the odd squiggle) I assumed the colour was impregnated in the resin or whatever they put in the mould ? I still think it boils down to cash !
Anyway, Robert's portly machine looks like it is in Kevin country.....
.. they are! If you build an airframe in a mold the first coat (after the release agent) to be sprayed into the mould is the paint. I think the main purpose apart from looking prettier or “cleaner” is “indirect heat protection” of the resin.

Back in the 60's when I worked for a plastics company, the first coat was called a 'Gel' coat. This resin had different properties to the main structural layers & IIRC was more flexible & could be UV resistant & pigmented if required. One could incorporate a terylene random weave cloth in the next layer for added abrasion resistance. If no gel coat used the surface could be easily crazed & then water can seep in by hygroscopic action weakening the bond between the reinforcing & the resin.
Will now go back to sleep!

Shame on you, sir, sleeping at quarter to ten in the morning!
Thank you, Keith, and others. I am now a little wiser.....
Very interesting remarks about the colour white on aircraft!
I've read somewhere that the colour white also is helpful in finding small cracks on the surface or fuel/oil/hydraulic leaks.
Back to the mystery again.
The plane is an unsuccessful design of a well known stable, built for the winner of a unique famous race.
That is a real Bonnie and Clyde special you got there Robert.
That's the bird
One of the few unsuccessful designs of Clyde Cessna
Over to you, Chris

Chris
The fin flash and paint looks Italian to me. Nothing has surfaced yet though on that front.
Could it be the Fiat G5/2 ?
Final stab - the experimental Meridionali A.G. ?
