Ahh - a real Moze special, this is the Schmidt of 1911 from New Jersey. I can't believe it actually flew with those weird props, but it supposedly did !

Re: The Schmidt. Carlo, the engine is just ahead of the pilot and connected to the props via chain drive. Not sure the type as I have tried to research this machine without any luck so far.

Hopefully in time. The Meadowcroft MC-1 Chinook. by William Meadowcroft. Registration N2879D. Flown 1968
Later dismantled to use of parts in his Moonshiner, retaining the same registration.

That's the one, Walter, although according to Jane's (61-62) it first flew in 1960. No location given there, either, although a Bill Meadowcroft seems to have been a well-known figure around Jackson, MI.

Mike, thanks for the link with info on Bull Meadowcroft. Seems he was a.o. a nightfighter pilot with Starfire (F-94C) and Scorpion (F-89) time under his belt.
Please see here a bad photo of the Moonshiner. You can tell the familiy resemblence.
