Try this ol' floater...(hope these chaps don't think they are going to get very far.......)
Try this ol' floater...(hope these chaps don't think they are going to get very far.......)
Looks like the Curtiss McCormick flying-boat of 1914 to me.

Indeed - the modified F boat for the tractor magnate.. (also known as the Spoonbill - yet another birdie!)
...i.e. an early AG-plane, or perhaps even the first
Here is another wee bird which, to my knowledge, doesn’t carry a bird’s name. But let’s wait and see what lefty our ornithologist will dig out.

Hard to see what's going on behind the fuselage pod, but you can see a prop in the shadow ! This is very much not my territory but I reckon it's probably German...
Indeed, there must be a prop (because gliders are not welcome here)
and it's not German

It seems to me this is a Spanish design.
Colyaer Martin 3?
gX, do you know by chance what is the aircraft in the background?
Fab4 you are right I have no information about the partly hidden bird in the background
Another mystery is the "slotted" engine cowling. Something that appears only on this picture in contrast to all others. ?

This is the original - looks like someone has done a bit of unsuccessful photoshopping and ended up with an extra prop !
Thanks to both of you
Here's my new mystery, shouldn't be too difficult.
Fokker D.XVII with Curtiss Conqueror. Clean machine.
(Gx, my comment was made with the authority of one who has done as much dodgy photoshopping as anybody !)
That's it.
Over to you, Mike.
Another little pusher oddball - low-wing floaters always look impossible to me !
Yes indeed, , duckie.......
Don't think we have had this one before.
I know it but I'll hold back.
Would love to know the source after solving this mystery
You got it BG.
As for the source, I'm am not sure but I do know it was not from my library.

Either no-one's looking or it's time for a clue!
I'm quite sure that there must have been "some" lookers now.
So, time for a clue
