A brew for gX on the L-4.

The story goes, Mr. Lawson got a little impatient and decided to have the crew take off from a short improvised dirt runway near the hanger where it was built instead of trucking it to a larger nearby airstrip. The pilot got it airborne to his credit but caught some trees on climb out. The brand new fancy loo went POOF!

Well this reminds me of a Kinner XRK1 (or C7) except for the tail which doesn't match.....
    Cheers

    It had at least three...

  5. #14380
Thank you BG for your guess. I think there is no relation to the searched aircraft.
Moses03's hint is appropriate , however.

I think this one might have been here before, but then, haven't we all ?

It would have hopped over Mr Trump's wall, anyway.........

    lefty is right as well.

But the picture to that earlier post is no longer in this thread and I oversaw the text as I happened to check only one of the three names beforehand (which did not yet appear here).

Is somebody out there apart from Moses03 and lefty to identify the aircraft?? If not the should go to Moses03 who responded first.

This monoplane was passed around more than Marilyn Monroe. Initially called the Michigan Aircraft Company Model 1, it was later renamed the Lambert Model 1344.

It ended it's days as the Breese-Dallas Model 1.

    Going to press on here.

This one features an " Automatic Pilot".

Based on one tiny clue and a bit of digging, I've come up with one possibility - the Lion Safety Plane of 1931 ?

  11. #14386
I did leave one tiny clue and I think Lefty took advantage of it! Spot on.

  12. #14387
Here's,something completely different - this one is missing its outer wing panels, but you get the general idea. I expect an answer in about 30 seconds......

It looks as if David Lockspeiser should have had a hand in this aeroplane.

Hi Mike. Sorry, it took a bit longer.
The (Lawrence) Heuberger-(Bud) Rinker H-5 Stinger of 1964-1970. N3638G. Maybe she still exists. Was still around at least till 2006.

You got it, Walter. I was always partial to a stinger - (brandy & creme de menthe on the rocks)

    Hi giruXX
Very correct. The land-based sister of the L-44 amphibian. I have the S-44 also seen advertised by a company named Aviabk.

May I add that French aircraft of all ages appear to be an infinite source for this thread?

Sorry for the unclear picture. Have a better one. but that gives away too many clues.
Seems that the (dismantled) fuselage shell still exists.
