Over to you, Walter -
Thank you Mike
A nice twin with a difference.
Isn't that the second prototype Let L 200 as rebuilt as the VZLU E-33 'Konrad' (OK-08/OK-LNB)?
hi pomme homme
Indeed the experimental E-33 by VZLÚ (Výzkumný a Zkušební Letecký Ústav (Aeronautical Research & Test Institute)). The M-108DHK jet engine was installed in rthe rear cabin/fuselage, hence the dorsal air intake. I understand the E-3 was later also used in BLC tsts.
Looking forward to your new mystery on this very wet Monday
Thank you, Walter.
I'm afraid that I've been, and am going to be, fairly fully occupied with work outdoors for the next few days. So due to this and the fact that I have nothing 'on the stocks' at present, I hope that no-one will object if I declare an 'open house'.
Hi Chris
A very rare twin indeed!
The Twinbee, a j/v of Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and Samsung Aerospace. So called technology demonstrator, first flown 1997.
That's the one. Good catch.
Over to you.
Chris
Thank you Chris
A single with a retractable gear. Looks that the pilot and his passenger are dressed for a nice fly -in weekend somewhere in ..........
......... Europe
Walter - I have to confess -I looked up the reg.......... (You really have to remember how unscrupulous some of us are.....)
...... and there was me saying to myself: 'no, don't look under the wing, don't look under the wing'. You should have asked the pilot to bank to port!
.......must have had a bad day when I had negative thoughts about (some of) you needing some help with this mystery
Have already approached the authorities in charge to have underwing clous removed. Since this needs law making, expect this to happen not before 2025.
The one coming up with the full and correct answer, may post the next challenge. That looks fair
F-PNUN is a Piel CP-605B Super Diamant and one of the few CP-60/CP-615 series aircraft with retracable gear.
Open House, please
They've all gone, Walter - let's see if a nice easy floater will wake 'em up !
Very famous European manufacturer....
That Sir, is the Focke-Wulf Fw 62 V1.
Will be out of pocket until late tomorrow so I am offering up the next mystery now.
What is going on here?
An early attempt at designing a quick-change engine kit?

This was an early attempt to have a detachable section of the airplane that could sail safely to the ground if need be. The idea worked but didn't translate into a commercial success.
It's the Abreu AE-5. An odd concept -I wonder how many of today's commercial aircraft have any gliding capability whatsoever ?
They all do. I flew a 727 and I don't remember the exact L/D but around 60 miles from altitude. The 747 that went through the volcano ash cloud did a good gliding flight for some time as well as the Gimli Glider. I'm a glider pilot but didn't loose all 3 engines. Although I was current as a 2 engine 727 driver for awhile when I lost 3 engines in a 90 day period.
Chris
Wow - I never knew that, Chris - fascinating stuff - thanks.
for Lefty.
Here is more on the Abreu design.

Thanks Kevin - there's also a YouTube video of the flight and its 'awkward' ending !
Here's a twin with some cheery chappies -
