Yes Lefty the Villish VM5 or, as they say:ВИЛЛИШ ВМ 5
    Your turn my friend

    Cheers
    BG
PS For sure this floater didn't want to take any chances when it came to Landing!

Thanks BG - more of a slider than a floater, eh ? (they even removed the wing floats.....)

    Here's a complicated-looking powerplant - on what ?

    Hi Mike
May just lucky, but just was on another site and stumbled upon the Vega Starliner with the experimental Menasco Unitwin engine.
Is that shown in your picture?

  6. #12431
Indeed, Walter, you stumbled correctly ! Vega Starliner (sounds like a rock band) she is........

    Thank you Mike
Found info on the Vega/Menasco on oldmachinepress.com/articles/page8
Lots of info on (old) planes, engines. cars, car engines etc and very nice HD quality photos on this site.

A small flying wing. Up to 3 countries were "involved" with this one-of.

The Horten H-XVK. Was designed in Argentina then built in Germany (D-9003) with the first flight in 1952. It ended up in Switzerland with a Continental 65 added to it registered as HB-SAA.

    Hi Kevin
    Have nothing more to add

  11. #12436
    Up next, a gunship.

    Rat-a-tat-tat...

  12. #12437
Struggling a bit here, but the nearest I can get is the Huff-Daland Panther with some extra hardware in the rear seat !

  13. #12438
Also known as the AT-2. Well spotted Mike and fast too.

    Here's a floater in a hurry.....

    Somewhat bemused by the silence.

This is an admittedly rare float-equipped variant of a machine that was built in very large numbers* in several countries ! (*i.e. 4 figures.....)

    Beats me! .....

Not getting anywhere with this one, Chris. Don't think she's a Brit - more like a U.S. model, (with those rooty-tooty exhaust stacks !) but no joy so far.

Chris, I've been East, and most of the other directions too - think you are going to have to reveal all, and notch up a victory here - deep silence from the rest of the crew !

  23. #12448
...... or if you want to prolong the pain, perhaps another clue prior to the answer?
