Maybe a link to a flying car posted not so long ago?

  4. #12254
OK, I know at least two of you have this one bagged - time for one of you shrinking violets to get this thing moving again !

    Hi Mike
No need to become abusive. A modified Grumman G-44 Widgeon?

  6. #12256
The Grumman bits were built into the Southernaire BM-11 of Houston, TX.

    Edit:
Okay, this shrinking violet will move things along with an interesting (amphibian?) that showed up in another thread recently. (It has a pusher configuration but either the prop is not installed or the photo is so grainy one can't quite make it out).

Like the previous BM-11, this one was built from parts of an earlier amphibian. Powered by a Menasco engine, circa 1939.

Not obvious enough for my research I'm afraid, mind you it looks as if it could do with some outriggers before trying to float it!!!

The previous design (another company) did have outriggers and looked like a proper amphibian. Maybe that is why they gave up on building new aircraft and ended up working on military glider parts during WWII before fading into history.

Well that clinches it - thought it looked a bit like the Argonaut design, did a bit of digging, and came up with the White Gull.

Aerofiles says it was a 4-seater - must have been cosy in there !

  11. #12261
White Gull it is. Have a pint.

    Over to the UK-

  12. #12262
Needed your clues there - obscure indeed !

    Try this one -

  15. #12265
Hmm, Chris posted a biplane before the Crash........it must have fallen into a Black Hole, sir !

  16. #12266
Rgr missing biplane. It had an Avia vibe to it the one quick glance I had before the outage.

  17. #12267
see that were back up with my last entry missing. Again. Can't upload pix at this time maybe problem with server won't take .jpg. Will try again later. Not Avia
If anyone can upload at this time "Open House"

Hello boys and girls welcome back!
The missing (or disappeared) plane must be a Kawanishi K11 [J-BAME] (If I still remember correctly!)....Cheers

    Over to you.

Looks like the attachments are working again.

Will be out of town a couple of days visiting family and wanted to wish the mystery thread regulars a Merry Christmas (or any other holiday you celebrate).

    Best,
    Kevin

Thanks Kevin - enjoy your rib roast or whatever you guys have who've already devoured your turkeys ! - and a lovely Christmas to all of you -

Before BG posts - let me point out the alternative mystery currently running - Chris' avatar !

Have had the magnifying glass on it and my guess is a little Irish number...........

(the extended smiley list seems to have been a victim of crash ?)

  22. #12272
No mystery in the avatar since answer in my "about me" info. Which company? As far as I know they used the most of them civil in the US than anyone.

    Hi Chris!
Yes your mystery wasn't that easy but it prompted me to go ahead with it!
Anyway boys and girls before we sink into the Xmas atmosphere let me submit following "folded up" mystery....
To all my friends from the thread and their families please enjoy your Xmas days thoroughly!

Long delay whilst Christmas overindulgence is paid for.......

Anyway, back to business. Immediate reaction to BG's mystery was Kinner, but discarded that notion. How about the Aero 200 ?

Yes Lefty that's indeed the right notion: Aero 200 she is: your turn if you feel like!

    Cheers!
