Thread: The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

    Lefty! Over to you.

  2. #1052
    Time for another floater.

  3. #1053
Avro 584 one-off fitted with floats for RAF seaplane training.

Edit: Feel pretty confident so I will go ahead with the next one. Going to be out of pocket all afternoon and possibly this evening.

Any takers on this unusual design?

    Where did the barkeeper go?

This one has been around in mystery threads before. The origin should be pretty obvious...

  5. #1055
Well I haven't seen it before. Obviously American, but whether I will live long enough to trawl through you-know-where is doubtful!

    Landing must have been 'interesting'.

Look like a Fairchild 22 that has gone through some wild modifications.

It had to take off before...

Not a Fairchild but a Felio SP-2. An interesting stinker!

Doubtful if this one will remain on the board for long...

  9. #1059
No takers? Nothing tricky, just a UK special...

  10. #1060
OK, it is a Boulton Paul P15 Bolton, a one and only.

As, I think, was this Cyrano de Bergerac special.......

  11. #1061
Did the boy scouts get a merit badge for building this one?

  12. #1062
If they did, they were Californian Boy Scouts.

OK, this was a horror, so we'll move on. It is a Volpar 4000 turbobrop Beaver, (believe it or not), a one-off. (And it's missing from that site too, Kevin) 1972-ish.

    Something more accessible.

  13. #1063
I think Lefty was exacting revenge for the Felio.

The new one is a Junkers Ju 49. Another one-off. Europe is asleep so will press on with this smart looking amphib-

Europe awakes! Is it a Supermarine Seagull ASR? Cancelled project of the late '40s, though I think they may have used the name Seagull for another aircraft.

Been rigging a model ship & fiddling about with fs flightplans all day. We are just getting snow off the Russian Arctic, a nice present from Vlad the Putin - which was a good excuse not to wash the car. Anyway, it's white all over now & I'm hoping not to be able to drive anywhere (like work) tomorrow!

You may like to try this one:

    Bristol 146.

No snow in my part of Scotland yet, Lefty must be hoarding it.

    Best wishes

to grumpos. It's a bit deeper here this morning & the sky remains black at nearly 07.00...I am not inclined to make a 15 mile journey on country roads. Don't like the idea of getting snowed in at the other end either. I shall stay at home & have a go at grumpos's mystery!

Thank you, sir - mulled grog more appropriate for today, I fear !

Sticking to elderly ladies, who is this dame ?

    Blériot 73 it was indeed.

(Still off the sauce, although my four weeks is up. May have a wee dram or two on Friday, but otherwise am concentrating on getting the weight off. 19 pounds lost so far !!)
