    Hello Lefty!
Yes indeed, what you saw is the small Arezzo airport which is located about 500 meters from my home and in fact there is a rather dilapidated FIAT G91 parked outside the Landing strip.
By the way we have a very lively airport club with many members with various activities including parachutism, tuition courses etc.etc.
Shortly I'll let you have my today's proposal
    BG

    and here we go....

It's not easy if you don't look up the reg!

  4. #9454
    Maybe a Gerner G.IIRb?

Yes Moses that's what it is but next time I'll make sure to cancel the reg numbers!
    Your turn please

Knowing Moses, BG, I can tell you he wouldn't have looked up the reg. There is honour amongst this motley crew.

However, seeing that 'D' means you aren't going to spend a lot of time looking up French aircraft !

Although the thought occurred that this could be a subtle Tuscan ruse...........

    Hello Lefty!
By my reply I didn't mean to imply that Moses may have jumped to the right conclusion by looking up the reg number it was more a memento for myself to make sure next time to delete obvious clues.

We are all aware of Moses knowledge (by far superior to mine)!
    Cheers

Well thanks for the support. Knowing it was German did narrow the search down!

Here is a rather large clunker to consider...

  9. #9459
Conflicting information can't decide if one or two were built. Last seen around 1920 being tested for a recon role.

Found it -eventually. Packard-LePere LUSAO 11

Looks like 2 produced - serial nos 40012/40013

    Check this out http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/1908-1920.html

    Hi Lefty!
The mystery plane is indeed a Lioré&Olivier LeoH27-1 which is the military version of the LeOH27.
If you want to consult a very good site (in french) on various aircrafts including Lioré&Olivier please go to www.bamf.be/?Collection_Philippe_Veys
Cheers and your turn of course
    BG

Thanks BG ! Very useful site, although my bible for LeO is -Attachment 8488

A great book spoiled by the fact that most of the photos are too small - I think the author acknowledged this later. It mentions the H271 but no mention or photo or a prototype ??

  19. #9469
Not giving up on triplanes just yet......

  20. #9470
That Sir is a Hannover F.10.

  21. #9471
Correct, young man. How's the weather in Texas these days ??

  22. #9472
    Warming up.

    And a new mystery...
