    Of course not. It's Italian!

    Stubby Macchi M.16.

Good digging, Moses ...... (dearie me, I wish some clever person would sort those smileys out. It takes me forever to find the beer.)

    Thanks Mike.

Here is a rarity from Western Europe.

Originally fitted with a Renault inline 4-cylinder, it was later powered with a 85hp Cirrus II...

Sorry not much help - cannot find anything fitted with an ADC Cirrus II that fits a description of the aircraft, let alone a photo, on the web that is!
Although it looks a tad familiar!

Okay, this one has fallen through the cracks of time it would seem. It is the Wibault 340 or Wibault-Penhoet 340. About the smallest design they built.

    Open board please-

The struts make me think it is a Latecoere, but I haven't got a clue which type.

    A puzzled

    A one-off from a well-known company, but not Latecoere.

  12. #8862
    Methinks a one-off Potez...

Edit: Not Potez argh! (slaps head). A Dewoitine D.35.

No need for the slap, Kevin...Dewoitine 35 - the company runabout, which may or may not have ended up in the Spanish Civil War !

Thanks BG. Took me a while to work out which Waco it was, then Googled it and found another photo of this very aircraft !

Here's a nice parasol trainer from slightly earlier..

  21. #8871
Where is DHC2Pilot? He used to be a whizz at these eastern parasols...

  22. #8872
I suppose it depends what you mean by 'eastern'.......that could be Chesapeake or Chungking ! (In this case, something about halfway between)

I'm alive and well Kevin....sitting back here in the shadows scratching my head at this latest enigma. This one isn't ringing any bells though...I was thinking China, however Mike has put that train of thinking to rest. I'm starting to lean towards Poland now although the scenery doesn't support that theory either.

Western Europe. This one had a Gipsy II, but it was produced with three or four other motors...
