And of course Wout is right!

It reminds me of a bigger Pou-Du-Ciel, I wonder if it had the same vices in the air?

This ons is for fans of ttbte types

  10. #8560
Took me a minute or two to work out ttbte, but then the penny dropped. Before it is picked up in Frisco, I'll dive in with the Mitrovich M.M.S. 3

Not a Hopfner by any chance?......They built some very nifty eindeckers in the early thirties....

    Not a Hopfner, BG.

That Sir, looks very much like a Yakovlev AIR-5.

  16. #8566
It is indeed - thought a relatively non-grainy shot might throw you off the scent !

  17. #8567
Sheesh Mike, you up late or up early? :isadizzy:

Don't get swept up with this one...

Dress is always a great clue - these gentlemen are far too well-dressed to be British, and their pants aren't 6 inches clear of their shoes so they can't be American. Who are the smoothies ? Italian, of course !

    It's the Ambrosini S.7 Freccia.

(up at 3 in the morning - wide awake - had half an hour on the keyboard, then back to sleep like a baby. It happens with old age !)

Doesn't look like the S7 in Wikipedia or in the photos.........This one has a swept wing with wing fences.....
    Keith

Edit - further searches show it was a S7 fuselage with swept wings etc as research for the jet version Sagittario. I shall go away & hide again!
