Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.
That, sir, is a Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.9, known, delightfully, as 'The Pulpit'.
Of course you are right, Mike!
Wouldn't want to be the unlucky gunner in that basket, mounted it seems only on the propeller axis..

I think Lefty sprung this one on us before but I can't remember it at the moment. Probably in Ferry's archive now.
Edit: Trying to shake off the cobwebs. Ponnier P.1 perhaps?
Hmm, as soon as I posted it, there was a sinking feeling.... It is getting more and more difficult to find new horrors !
Ponnier it is.
That Ponnier is a much overlooked machine. No entry at aviafrance and nothing on the net that I could find.
Here is a nifty looking jet-
Republic XF-91 Thunderceptor (S/N 46-681) after the V-tail modification.

Nine minutes on the board until zapped by the Dutchman!
The nose is similar to the Thunderjet, so it was quite easy to find; the aircraft on the left side on this photo would have been harder to find..
(Yet another) Interesting wing experiment:

That's the one, Baragouin!

I think a clue is now in order: it is a 1910 U.S.A. device....

Thanks to Aerofiles I think I found your contraption. This the Jacobs Multi-plane?
Yes Sir. The Jacobs Multiplane, that's what it is.
Now please go ahead with a fresh enigma!

Recently unearthed twin boom pusher photo...
You left that Czech reg. as a red herring, eh ?
It is the S.A.I.M.A.N. L.B.2, methinks.
I did leave that as a red herring. It didn't deter the Scotsman though. Correct on the Italian.
This is a toughie - a rare bird in an exotic setting.
The Waterhouse & Royer Cruisair built for Klamath Air Service, Oregon. This exotic?
It was when it entered service with the Escobar rebels in Mexico !
Spot on, though a nitpicker like me would spell Cruzair with a Zee !!
If I'm not mistaken the Cruizair was a modified Ryan Mechanics CM-1.
Hi Kevin :salute:
The Thurston-Patchen TSC-2 (design David Thurston, money Marvin Patchen) of 1972.
The aircraft (N1EX) later emigrated to South Africa (1975, ZS-UGF) and remained without followers. After having been grounded for some 15 years, the TSC-2 was restored and flew again in 2011 and is part of the South African Air Force Museum.
