Here you go. It has Mr. Apostolo's watermarks on it. He has a lot of rarites scattered across the net.

Since we are not benefitting financially from this photo, I see no harm in removing the names for the sake of the game.

Something newer to keep us busy. Construction started 1990 and first flight was in 2007.

Finally one that I recognise .... the Pereira GP-5.

I'm amazed at the knowledge of the team here to recognise the pics in this post.

There's obscure aircraft I've never even heard of let alone seen pics of.

I can't match your guys knowledge and if I can ask someone to post the next pic please.

    Pete.

    Hi Pete :salute:
    The Pereira GP-5 it is
Like earlier designs (GP-4, GP-2 Osprey etc.) construction was largely wood.

As requested by Pete, OH please

Pete- Looks to me you can match the rest of us motley crew. :salute: I for one have never heard of a Pereira until now!

Here is one to move us along...

Thanks, (at last) for an easier one ! It's one of the Douglas BTD-1 prototypes with the experimental air brakes - don't think I've seen a pic of those in action before.

I wondered if the 'tail feathers' were more for making sure that the bombs etc didn't hit the real tail!
    Very interesting.

It is the Douglas! A pint for the Scotsman.

    No sir.

Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary? This one seems familiar but can't place it.

Edit: Will be scarce in these parts until after the 25th, so a Merry Christmas to all.

OK folks, it's the Pintsch Schwalbe, (sounds like a bottle of beer) designed in for AEKKEA (sounds like a well-known furniture retailer) by one Antonius Raab, who was of course , but built under licence in by Pintsch.

OH please, for someone not too weighed down by festive goodies to post something jolly - may I echo Moses' sentiments with best wishes to you all.....:isadizzy:

By the way, if you chaps over there have gobbled up all the turkey by Thanksgiving, what are you having for Christmas ? A small ox ?

Here is something jolly (okay, I made that up).

For the record, my brother cooked up a slab of roast beef for the family Christmas dinner.

I'm very very ignorant about US jets.
But could that be a Curtiss XP87?

Yep, the XP-87. Last aircraft ever from Curtiss.

    Have at it BG.

Yes Lefty it is the Milli Müdafaa Vekaleti MMV1 of 1932. only one built. It seems it flew only once in 1935!
    Your turn of course
    Baragouin

Sorry for the delay - here's a rare version of a machine from a biggish manufacturer. A bit grainy, I'm afraid.

Fairchild maybe? Dunno. Are those meatballs under the wings or a trap?

  25. #7775
It is a Fairchild. The meatballs are distinctive roundels that have been filled in....
