I understand the whole family tree was as follows (I am open for comments/remarks)
SE-2300 two-seater tail wheel and 140hp Renault 4P-EI F-WBBD/F-BBBD
SE-2300 two-seater, two examples with tri-gear (F-WBBK/F-BBBK and F-BEEL) of which latter with wheel pants. Same engine
SE-2300/II one SE-2310 re-engined with 135hp Régnier 4L0-0
SE-2300/III one SE-2310 re-engined with 170hp Régnier 4L-02
SE-2311 second SE-2310 with fuel tank relocated from fuselage to the wing, making it a 3-seater.
Thanks Mike, would appreciate that (maybe via PM?)
Next challenge will follow a.s.a.p.
Forum is about Mystery Aircraft. This one may qualify.
First flew in the 1970s (have no exact date) and sadly lost in accident in 1985.
it is not in aerofiles.com
but a pic is on the net and that is my fault.
May we deduce, therefore, that it is American ??
that is correct Mike :salute:
Very little is known on this one. It had an O-320 engine. I never could find out whether it was single or 2-seat.
Well Walter, I don't have much equity against these types so I took your bait and ran with it. Stracener SX N2297 it is.
Wow! I'm impressed. Where the **** did you exhume that one, Kevin ?????
No reason to be impressed. I just trolled http://1000aircraftphotos.com/index.html until I got a hit. Knowing Walter, this was my only shot at finding it!
Hi Kevin, :salute:
first class detective work !
The photo was taken by a friend during a vacation in the USA. Never was able to find additional info, except that N2297 was lost in an accident (NTSB listing).
So it may remain (sort of) a mystery
Your turn Sir
Several built in the early 1930's by a smaller company. It did not last long before being replaced.
I've seen this brute before, but the old brain isn't telling me where.........
Those tail stripes bother me.......Romania ??
(By the way, what's this new nonsense on our ID -'thanked X time in X posts' - who dreamt this one up ?? Anyway it's wrong - I was thanked recently !)
Oh dear, my photoshopping has given this aeroplane possible spurious markings. My apologies.
Here is the uncensored version:
As far as the "thanking" bit, I was apparently in the small minority that didn't care for this new forum feature as discussed in the staff forum.
Ahhh, that's better. It's the IMAM Ro30.
Have a pint of dark on the house. Over to the Scotsman-
Think this may have appeared in these forums a while ago, but it is such a bonny wee thing, no apologies for posting again....
Our wee little amphibian is none other than the FBA 310 with a Lorraine 5Pc 120hp up top
Pretty confident on the FBA....so much so I can't wait to share our next enigma (heavily and poorly photoshopped). Laughing will result in me withholding any being awarded for the correct answer. :mixedsmi:
This one, if my identification is correct, is a real headscratcher. A few hints - 1st, she's an American girl. 2nd, it's not in Aerofiles. 3rd, I've been unable to dig up any information on it aside from an entry in the registers from 1936. A redheaded step sibling of a very popular homebuilt from the era. Possibly a one-off.
Had a feeling it was American, mostly due to the way the photo looked.
I think the chances of us getting it over here are remote, and if Moses is stumped, I think you've scored a direct hit under the waterline, John.
