I think it's a Standard E-1. What the garlic-muncher is doing with it is a matter for conjecture.

Lefty is hot on the trail as usual. I thought this was the 3 V-II Sturmer initially, but the text that was with the photos seem to indicate a Sturmer 5. Anything in your tomes on the mysterious 5 Mike?

This from the redoubtable Heinz Nowarra.. The dates for the record-breaking flight are the same as your French quote but it never refers to a Sturmer 5. Note rare pic of the Stromer.
