    Hi Hurricane91 :salute:

Your guess is of high quality. The Sirius II by RFB/VFW-Fokker. Used for trials with the ducted fan principle. The Fantrainer development was built in small numbers.

    Your turn, Sir!

    Hi Wout, thank you.

    Young and ornery.

I think it's a Standard E-1. What the garlic-muncher is doing with it is a matter for conjecture.

Cheers Lefty. :ernae: They were designated as Standard M-Defense at the time the photo was taken, then changed E-1 and delivered as trainers. The earnest young gentleman was a test pilot with the French Aviation Mission to the States ca.1918.

International CF-10. Was slated for the 1927 Dole Air Race but never made it to the starting line.

It does have that look but not a Messerschmitt design.

    Not a French build Dave.

  21. #6471
It's very like the Möller Stomo but with a different engine. Möller 3 V-II Stürmer ??

  22. #6472
Lefty is hot on the trail as usual. I thought this was the 3 V-II Sturmer initially, but the text that was with the photos seem to indicate a Sturmer 5. Anything in your tomes on the mysterious 5 Mike?

Either way, a cold one is in order.

  23. #6473
This from the redoubtable Heinz Nowarra.. The dates for the record-breaking flight are the same as your French quote but it never refers to a Sturmer 5. Note rare pic of the Stromer.

    Here's a tidy monoplane.

    I think it's the Czech Letov S - 33 of about 1930.
