    RCAF Grostenquin

    RCAF Grostenquin, France

Airfield in east central France, used by RCAF between 1954 to 1964

Most of the objects built by myself, but you wil need these--
MAIW Global Scenery Library Objects (FS9) will be needed from the file library at https://militaryaiworks.com
Ive also used CalClassic object librarys, found at Flightsim
FS2004 Classic Scenery Libraries version 4, its a 241.23 MB, if you dont want to install this, you can go without if you like,
it just adds a bit more atmosphere

Alternative ground poly provided for Golden Wings user's

repaints for 416,421 and 430 F86 Sabre sqds included.
You will need John Young's F86 Sabre. can be found at MAIW. Look for "AI North American F-86 Sabre - USAF (JYAI)" in their library
Although i think it can be found in the ACG Duxford package also.

    Nice,

Regarding MAIW, at the moment the library is off-line. There has been a major software upgrade and the current library isn't compatible so it will be a while before they get the library back on line.

Thanks, ive just had a look over there, that makes things a little difficult. Iim hoping a lot of you already have these library's, they've been around for quite a while. I cant think of anywhere else to get them from so its a case of waiting for the site maintenance to complete, which hopefully wont be long

Ian, I suppose it it too much to hope that you are planning on doing the other cold war RCAF bases in Europe (Marville in France and Zweibrucken and Baden-Soellingen in West Germany)

    Just curious.

Need to try and find a CF-100 to use as AI since after 1956 one of the Sabre squadrons at each base was replaced by a Canuck squadron.

    Thanks
    Gavin

Hi Gavin, ive already done Marville, its in our library, there's an FSX version too, there will be an X version of Grost too when ive tidy'd a few things up.
CF100 is a bit tricky, there's the old Alphasim model which i still fly from time to time, but i think the mapping is not great and is tricky to repaint

Well colour me embarrassed. I'm not sure how I missed Marville.

Thanks Ian, and looking forward to the FSX update to Grostenquin.

As for the AI Canuck, I think the Alphasim model is the only option - fortunately it isn't a very complex model. There is already a repaint of 445 Sqn when it was based at Marville (done by Mark "Fireball" Rooks) that I can use as a starting point.
