De Havilland DASH 8 Early Version

Presently enjoying the Pilot's Dash 7, curious if we'll see an early "DASH 8" ( non Q400 ) anytime soon ?

I haven't seen anything on the official forum, which is where most of the major dev houses usually post WIP announcements.

That would be just the type (DHC-8-315) used by Japanese Coast Guard service and involved in a crash with an Airbus A350 quite recently, at Tokyo Haneda airport. Quite tragic for the crew on the Dash, but fortunately all (300+) passengers and crew on the Airbus managed to quit the aircraft safely before it completely burned down...

This. I'd love a -100 and/or a -200, and a Buffalo. Those, along with Blackbird's promised Otter, would give us the entire DHC lineup.

Anyone had experience with the 2020 DHC-7? I flew it as Captain out in the Aleutian Islands for a year, could do some fabulous things (except go fast). I also did the flight dynamics for Milton Shupe's FS( and FSX versions.

    Cheers: Tom

I bought it at launch simply because it's a turboprop regional airliner - apart from that it's not really my 'thing' but I really like the PMS GTN 750 version and often fly it around Europe.
There are 4 cockpit versions supplied - steam gauge only, GNS530, PMS GTN 750 and TDS GTN 750Xi.
The latest update has improved it immensely and there's an embarrassment of riches in the form of liveries and other mods for it over at flightsim.to.

It's so good to see you again Tom. I have missed your posts. Is your daughter still flying?

As can be expected, she's nice and heavy on the controls.

It's been a long time but I don't recall the plane being heavy on the controls, one reason was the roll spoilers which gave a very active response without heaviness. One of the few planes where you could fence with bad turbulence on final. Landed in 50 kit X winds a few times!

Probably doesn't help, my daily flyer is the Britten Islander
