Sounds like he was a heck of a pilot. Interesting the article mentions him sea-plane training on the Banana River. They were still doing that when we were stationed at Patrick AFB on the Banana River, in the late-50s & 60's, using the Grumman Albatross.
I wonder... Since he would most likely watch fellow pilot's landings and someone had a particularly bad one, if he originated his "That was NOT nice and easy." phrase during his navy career? Even though Drew did just fine hosting, the Price Is Right just wasn't right without Bob as the host. Now I'm curious and have to read up on his time in the navy!
