Finally pulled the trigger and the download just started. My speed is probably not good enough but tough I am moving forward anyway.

I pay for 10MB down and 3MB up

I don't always get that speed.

My internet comes from the Farmers Silo down the road. I think that tower as we might call it picks up its signal from Another tower over by our farm which is about 2 miles away.

Every few months I ask for more Speed but Scotty says I'm giving you all she got and she can't handle anymore.

By the way, when the installation finishes, you might want to go to offline mode:

1. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator.
2. Go to Options > General > Data.
3. Toggle Online Functionality OFF.
4. Click on Apply & Save.

Although I just read that 5 Mbps is the minimum required

You must live either way inland or way South. I figured fast internet would be everywhere there by now. I left there before the internet! LOL!

People in the 3rd world countries can get better service than us "rich" folks in the USA.

BTW, I shall have another check in the mail Monday for an SOH donation. I see we're getting close. This is my "only" go-to Flight Sim Forum simply because it is the best for a quick look for the best products and also I get the best quick answers to questions in my feeble attempts to keep up with the Joneses in developing scenery and aircraft liveries. If I ever get the real hang of the liveries, you're going to see a slew of them. I have the textures done, but the SDK and I do not get along with creating the Packages!.

As of right now 53GB of the content are downloaded... only 101 GB more to go.

Just watching my routers dash board and currently downloading at 1 to 2.5 MB. Pretty slow but we are getting there.

Too much trouble with groundhogs and deer to grow it Don, but you can bet that the Mountain Hill community has that covered. No, I purchase my medical Cannabis in Lynchburg at the RISE dispensary. We are supposed to be getting one in Danville, but I'll believe it when I see it. I wait until the Good Greens bag , which contains 10.5-gm of delicious looking popcorn sized buds. Animal Face is by far the best strain, but Soul Mate is running a close second. Modeling simply has become too expensive. I use my creative powers in MSFS now. I get little sim flying, mostly testing liveriers and scenery projects. But I have a good system and use the Pro Version of MSFS2020 Map Enhancement tool ($30.00/yr). The ground textures are so good, you loathe the AI ruining it!

Prices for modeling is out of sight now. Years before I retired, I bought everything, sans paint, glue, supplies, to build for years. I know my unbuilt collection will outlive me! I'm stepping up the simming. I just started to mess with repainting. I've been painting since FS98. This is a little more complex, but it's starting to click now. After that, I want to learn how to exclude scenery problems. I HATE taxiing out and finding taxi lights in the middle if the taxiway - trees and bushes on ramps, etc. That absolutely drives me nuts! Thought about this the other day - we've known each other for 30 years now, from the old Hobby USA contests. I left the hobby and went simming, and you followed shortly. We have good hobbies!

The base finished installing a few hours ago and I just got home to do the update. 130GB Deluxe upgrade and I bought the Premium also. Note sure when taht upgrade happens.

So here we go more downloading.

The suspense is killing me, its like having to wait until next week for the next episode of your favourite programme.

The program is in. While I was at work today I sent it off to download a few of the content updates. US, Canada, New Zealand. Only 20GB this time. It might have been done early this evening but Windows decided to download updates and then complain about a reboot. That seemed to crash FS and it stuck on doing nothing so I rebooted when I got home. It was halfway done with World Update X: USA and the reboot started it over again.



So I now while it is trying to download and install those updates I have been poking in the interface to figure it out.

Found the control settings and trying to setup my Yoke, Rudder Pedals and 4 throttle quadrants. Yoke is set how I normally use it. On to the rudder pedals.

I am expecting to do my first flight early AM US time. Before I have to go to work again. It will be a Piper Cub flight just not sure where yet.

The cub is perfect for a flight into W88. If you really want it short, take off from KGSO 5R and head out straight. When you get over the lake, look to your right for a small strip. Even in the Cub, you're probably looking at less than five minutes in the air.

Now the next thing I learned not to do. While downloading files don't enter a flight to check your controllers. This also stops the download and you start over again.

Good news is the basic controls are where I want them for now. I need a printed list of the keyboard button combinations there are a few in FS9/FSX I always used. I will look for that after I get a few flights in.

Thanks Jim got it printed out and ready to go.

My downloads were caught up over night but no time to fly before I had to head off to work.

I burnt up 15GB of my mobile hotspot data exhausting my allotment for the month. That finished off a few of the updates.

Before I left for work I put it back on the normal network to try to get update V: Nordics. Downloading extremely slow but should be done before I get home.
