If I live to be 101

I will NEVER understand how MSFS can go from running like a well tuned engine to a total FUBAR in one start up. Just saying....May MS, Asobo, and the rest be condemned to an eternity of CTDs, and hair pulling..

I'm noticing a patchwork of textures popping in and out since the update. Somewhat annoying.
Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

I feel your pain John. It's the modern age and it's all fubarred to Heck. It's not just MSFS, I've had other programs to freeze, go into a revolving state of peat and repeat! Most of all for me, It's merely Windows! I've been dealing with this OS since MS-DOS! So it helps solving problems.'

Uh oh, I had a couple 3 or so Windows 11 updates last night or was it this morning? I can't remember as it was dark outside, and I was in a hurry. I've not run MSFS since last weekend.

I'll run the ol' thing and see if I have problems.

Like you Jmig, I also am still having problems since the update. I was running the Beta before, and it ran like a dream but since the official update it's turned into a nightmare. I've had too drastically reduce my settings, turn off HAGS (that made a big difference to the stuttering) and the game won't allow me to switch between windowed and full screen, which is rather peculiar.

I've re formatted my complete Windows installation three times (yes, I know repeating the same process and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity, but that's what it's driven me too ). I'm hoping they do another update soon to repair the damage the last one did!

May I ask what HAGS is? Hardware Accelerated Graphics ......

I've had 2 episodes (since last night) of flying along with no problems and then .... bam, I'm looking at my desktop

My boss is going to send me an important email today and then after that I'll try that DDU thing (maybe it's a NVidia driver thing for me, I don't know)

Yes, Hardware Accelerated Graphics, switching it off cost me quite a few FPS but reduced the stutters.

    If I may...

For those having any CTD issue/s try the following…

    Run the following commands…

Go through each of the following steps one at a time. Copy each line, one at a time , paste it into the Dos window (crtl + V) and press return

and it will then run. Wait until each runs and finishes before you move on to the next one.
When you are completely finished, Restart your computer and then try to see in MS2020 will start and run properly

    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /checkhealth

    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

    Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore

    Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

RESTART your computer as the last step.
