    Mayday! help needed

I am out of the flight sim business until I get this figured out.
Suddenly my view seems to be stuck in the "Pan Up" mode, both in VC and exterior views

I can't pan left or right, I can fight it to pan down but the moment I release the coolie hat it quickly pans strait up again.
I have checked the keyboard assignments for a conflict but don't see any and I haven't changed any anyway.
I sure could use some ideas on this

When you check that control in your Game Controllers setting in windows, does it show a red arrow up like this? (POV hat) https://imgur.com/a/BFfC1T3

If so, you might need to clean that physical contact. I use WD-40 Specialist Contact cleaner Quick-Drying any time something like that needs to be dealt with.

If it seems right, I'd make sure to click through every device listed in the MSFS controls menu to make sure something else didn't get somehow assigned to that same button/axis.

Thanks LP it does indicate a continuous input.
I'll see if I can find that stuff, though I don't know how I am going to get under the coolie hat.
Dang it, I ain't got money for a new controller

I really appreciate the quick response though

Try some "canned air" from Wally World (Walmart) too. There might be a small speck of something lodged in there.

When in doubt also just try to recalibrate it. It seems mechanical, but sometimes calibration just gets goofy. Coolie hats are relatively simple, so if canned air as Tom suggests doesn't do the trick, a contact cleaner might but either way you'll probably be able to avoid replacing the whole unit. Good luck!

I had a similar problem, and the culprit turned up being a gamepad controller I had connected, but wasn't using for MSFS. Somehow it took over priority, and was overriding input from my joystick. I disconnected the gamepad, and problem was solved. NC
