    Ryan STM (Float) 1940-41

    I came across this lovely footage on Youtube (Netherlands Institute for Military History) showing the flight of a Ryan STM in the Dutch Navy .

    Launch, flight, recovery.

    In midflight, the pilot indulges in a series of snap rolls, and that's where my jaw drops. I knew the Ryan ST was agile, but even with floats attached, this machine is something else. Have a look.

    If I remember correctly, Golden Age Simulation has the float equipped STM included in their Ryan ST package for FSX and later.

    I wonder is that little girl is still flying today. She looks pristine and factory fresh in that video.
