A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Scenery - Library objects

Description: ETO gunpits for CFS2 by UncleTgt

Following a request for larger gun emplacements, I created these log-reinforced emplacements.

ll items are single LOD, but contain a damage model. You'll need to do significant HE damage to destroy one of these & get the damage model to show!

We have 3 different styles, each in a large or medium size, to give a total of 6 different models. I think this should give enough variety to model most significant battlefield fortifications.

I made use of textures already existing where possible. In this case I used the AF_StackedLogs & AF_ThinGrass bitmaps. My versions of these are included - don't forget to back up your own textures before installation.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

Thanks to: Allen for his Making Exploding Objects using FS2002 Tools & Tutorial.

Arno Gerretsen for ModelconverterX, such a clever & versatile tool.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.

Thanks UT. Any chance of doing some with a North African feel? These are very useable and beautifully done.

Presumably a desert war install has no need for green grass ground, you could just replace the AF Light Grass bitmap with a desert sand bitmap?

I'll see what I can come up with during the holidays ...

    Thank you, Unc!

Your infrastructure factory has been working overtime I see, and this is only the latest in a whole collection of great additions that you've shared with us.

I know you probably feel a bit under-appreciated, given the muted response to a lot of these, but rest assured that's not the case. You've given us some superb things to use and we all know that, even if not enough of us say it.

    More power to your elbow!

    Cheers

Stupid of me to have overlooked that option. In any case, logs of that size might be a bit hard to come by in the desert.
