    Possible Next Scenery Project

I may have found another small Airport to work on in Vermont. . .Bennington Airport (William H. Morse State Airport). I have enough reference to start but if anyone is familiar with the Airport and can put me on to any good photo resources, let me know.

Ughhh, if only I had a car... (I only have a company truck) I've worked near there many times. It's about a 2 hour drive from me...

Now if you later decide to do Middlebury State (6B0) I can get shots of that as it is literally 5 minutes down the road from me.

That's a tall order Brian, lots of buildings. If you have the time it would be great to get some usable textures to wrap the models I build with.

Basics are done (ADE, Ramp, Rwy, Taxiways, Parking Spots and ground texture), Night map and water areas also set. Now I'll start on the buildings based on what images I've been able to find online.

I actually got down to Bennington today for work. I only has a few minutes but I got a couple of shots from the parking lot showing some of the rear of the main hangar, the sign at the entrance to the airport and the back of the closest T-hangars to the lot. Just waiting for them to sync from my phone to my PC.

Edit. I have some of the pics... ED send me a PM here with an e-mail I can send them too and I'll get em' out to you.Click image for larger version.

A few more WIP shots. Hangars are in position with one exception and I'm trying to contact someone at the airport to give me some insight into what it looks like.

Well, to my surprise someone sent me 2 shots of the building in question. Turns out it's the EAA Headquarters (a trailer with a porch).

Ed, in the second shot above of the preliminary object placing. Where the road to the airport meets the street is where the airport sign is. Facing left back towards the town.

Hangars and EAA Clubhouse in place. Also placed some 3D people and vehicles to start. Set vegetation just in the area of this shot to get a look at how it will look once all the trees and bushes are in place. My BBQ Grill by the Clubhouse is over the top. I'm gonna have to find a smaller "smoke" effect, lol

Liking it so far. Is that compass rose there in RL or is it just part of your prep?

Sent a group of shots of the airport to my contact at Morse Airport. . .his response. . ."Very Cool", lol.

He says I need to look at a current airfield diagram as some things have changed. . .namely a parallel 3/4 length taxiway that doesn't show in the Google Earth image. I can't locate any airport diagrams that indicate that taxiway.

This looks great Ed, as a native Vermonter I'd love to see more VT airports! If you ever get up north perhaps you can take a look at Franklin County State (KFSO), the closest airport to my hometown, St.Albans? Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing!

As is often the case, not all things on the internet are up-to-date. I found the State Transport portal https://vtrans.vermont.gov/aviation/.../williamhmorse
The most recent Meeting minutes was 2016! But there is a link to the development plan https://vtrans.vermont.gov/sites/aot...lop%20Plan.pdf
which gives a diagram (including a small runway extension and a parallel taxiway, but no textual information. (I get annoyed at people who do things half way ) so I can't confirm, nor deny that anything is there, or will be, or when it might be... yada, yada. At least you can see where it's supposed to be, if and when.
Oh, and the link on the Bennington Chamber of Commerce for the airport is TU.

So, I went to the FAA (they should know, huh?)

    Chart Supplement search
    Procedure effective date: 0901Z Oct 07 - 0901Z Dec 02, 2021
    Identifier: KDDH

Here's the link to the FAA .pdf effective those dates (ie. now) http://aeronav.faa.gov/afd/07oct2021..._07OCT2021.pdf

Nothing depicted for a taxiway. So, I'd go with what you've got.

Check out the VT Airport services page. Has an low rez shot that shows the taxiway https://www.vermontairportservices.com/

    Also

Look up the airport on map quest. that satellite view has a much more recent photo with the taxiway
