Testing 1000 bomber raid Cologne May 30-31 1942

Working on various missions for different RAF BC bombers for the first 1000 bomber raid which was on Cologne May30-31 1942. There will be missions for each type of bomber represented; and then various Luftwaffe Nachtjagd night fighter missions as they shot down quite a few of these RAF bombers. This video is just a test as I built up a sort of template mission which will include about 500 bombers only! The video, is the view from an aircraft called "camera" which can have different nationalities if needed; in this case German. The 'camera' was just flying around Cologne as the bombers came in. The whole 1000 bombers passed over Cologne in 90 minutes!

I'll do that when I have finished the template. So far only 300 odd aircraft!!

3 more test videos. Details in the video read outs. Any idea on the flickering ground effects appreciated. Hampden gauges and bomb sight now +nlighted!
The Halifax's flaps were unknowingly lowered at some time by error!

More testing! This time from ther Nachtjagd POV!

These are tests of a mission representing one of the NJG Nachtpiloten, Hptm. Werner Streib of Stab I./NJG1 In a Bf110 Night Fighter (Nactjagd) on the night of the first RAF Bomber Command '!000 Bomber Raid' which was to Cologne on May 30-31 1942. He claimed 2 aircraft out of the estimated 30 aircraft shot down by NJG1 and NJG2 that night. The setting on my PC with Ankor's Shaders makes the night very dark and therefore almost impossible to see an aircraft unless one nearly hits it. That's even with a 46" screen and room lights at 10%! We are working on at least getting better reflection from the moon on aircraft, but not yet, so for now I have the Tactical Indicator on and mark the intended target with a small yellow dot which I use instead of the stock large yellow bracket.

The starting music is a German song of that time called "Komm_Zuruck" which was a favourite of nachtjagd piloten at that time
