Tupolev Tu-2, Russian WWII medium bomber for Fs9.

    Hi Folks,
Yet another from Chris, again not done before in FS9, a Russian WWII Tupolev Tu-2 medium bomber. He's made a great model and a very nice tex for it, (SteveB et-al painters, you're gonna love this one!).
One of the great ac of WWII, and real beauty to look at.

A few more bits and pieces and testing...and then upload.

    Cheers

Glad to hear that Wbuchart, good on yer!

Chris, and then myself, used to upload to FS.com (great site btw), but we were finding the attitude to uploading new models for FS9, to be very lukewarm, uninspiring with not much enthusiasm, unlike here! So, you get bespoke, unique models here at the SOH, and I'm happy about that. We're a great bunch here (back-slap and tear...lol), and I hope it stimulates more financial support for the SOH. I'll get down now...ha ha.

    And it's now uploaded...go get'em Floyd...

Thanks for an overlooked subject. One of Russia's best (if not THE best) looking planes of the war. Just like to add that it works quite well in FSX too! The only issue I've noticed is that the glass in the bombardier, cockpit front and rear along with the rear gunner's postion are opaque, but only in the exterior views. in the VC they're perfectly fine and the plane is totally flyable! I did switch the sound to Manfred's C-47 but I may see how the An-2's soundset suits the Tu-2. (Let's keep it all Russian if we can!) Now I'm going to see if there's something I can do about the glass in the external view!

    Josh,
Don't change the sound set, as it is all Russian...

The sound set I included is actually from an Ilyushin Il-14, which uses the same Shvetsov ASh-82 engines as the Tu-2 and Pe-2.

You see 'what suits', and what is genuine can be two different things..

    Cheers

Well, I'll swap the original sound back in it and see how I like it. When I glanced at the files I thought it was the default FSX DC-3 sound. It does fly quite nicely, very similar feel to the Mosquito.

    Hi Josh,
You can do whatever you like, and have whatever sound you like, just that I didn't want you or others thinking that the sound wasn't correct

And yes, I would imagine that it was a well balanced ac, it had good power to weight, just not as agile as a Mossie, but similar.

    Cheers

It's shy , most of the scratching and stuff is still in progress.
Spent 4 hours playing with rivets last night, then went and splashed some paint for a bit.

Nice work Steve. A good paintkit, with some decent weathering makes the life of a repainter easy.
