I have a steam install of msfs2020 and don't know where to put the files for the freeware goose I downloaded and i didn't see a .txt file with instructions.

Locate your Community folder (instructions follow) and drop the entire folder into it. Pretty easy once you have located it.

Expect banging, belching and an occasional manly fart as you roar down the runway at full power. (I have found that the engine can make similar noises)
