    IRIS Bombardier Private Jet (freeware)

Just took delivery of this beauty. Only had time for a brief walk-around to snap a few pics.

FSX Native Model. New upgraded VC. Working wipers, FMC, high res. textures, custom sounds, animations, pilot and co-pilot, etc.

Thank-you, to IRIS Simulations, David Hoeffgen, Dylan A., Chris Evans and company for putting this one together.

Lots of repaints available, esp. at Avsim. Aircraft seems very "mod friendly". Great candidate for @expat's FS Spotlights mod, for starters ........

In this video, it's the second aircraft shown :

Pete, nice shots. Do you what airport?
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

OK, off to the races .............. !

Enrique Cornejo, over at FS Workshop has been doing some mods on this model that look just fabulous.

They include tweaks and texture improvements in the VC as well as a very cool livery.

Check out the livery in real life here :

The GPS 500 Replacement Gauge V5 by G.Munro is my next step - much more useful for orientation with added functionality compared to the default FSX GPS.

    Link is here : http://www.allflightmods.com/microso...ment-gauge-v5/

Also waiting for FS Spotlights - didn't realize registration approval required prior to download at their site.

I prefer seeing scenery rather than shadows and reflections when looking out of the VC glass, therefore removing the glass reflections.

I did look into this one and downloaded it but then discovered it was basically what I already just finished with the Gulfstream (same VC). Since all my flying is done in the VC I didn't see any reason to keep two that looked identical, despite the few upgrades. Still a good deal though - Freeware!!

I have had many pleasant hours in the IRIS GEX with this CRJ panel - very nice freeware.

You should find however that the AI Gulfstream with the G650ER air.cfg mods (I posted on the other thread) should outperform the Global Express XRS, as in real life.
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

And love that Orbx KMRY Monterey Airport scenery!

    Thank-you, @expat.

Flew this one from KMRY to KPSP yesterday. A very nice flight and views along the way.

    Dusk arrival ........ KPSP

Added VC mods from @expat's Gulfstream thread and some payware VC light effects (for now - until FS Spotlights comes).
Will be adding an 'altitude callout' gauge ........ like this one : https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showt...e-callouts-fsx

    Hopefully this will complete things.

If the exterior model is FSX native, yes.

And I go to great pains to put reflection in....on 2D panels....which I set up from screencaps of the VC...

Thanks Where can I find this VC please as the enclosed link via this thread to simviation goes to wrong planes instead of this specific plane?

Hope this works for you, Aharon.

(PS. Sorry for the late response, as I scarcely check in here or 'fly' during the Summer/Fall - RL workload keeps me busy..)

    Just Discovered

    Good morning all!
I just discovered this and have downloaded all from the links. Thanks to everyone who added the different links. I will be putting together for myself and adding to the hanger to fly from my KASH which has a real-life company that flies corporate jet clients. I actually talked with the office and one of the pilots when I was creating their building for the airport. Really nice folks that took the time to help me with photos of the outside I couldn't get from the right angles in Google Earth. Going to fly later after i get this to KASH to Chicago Executive "back home". I was able to go aboard the B-24 Liberator "Witchcraft" some years ago there and also a B-17G "Aluminum Overcast" that flew in another year. Wish I could have afforded to have a real flight in them when offered.

    Crj-200

Any interest in these liveries? It's for the Bombardier CRJ-200 FSX Native "Iris 2013 Easter Egg":

I've made them a long while ago, and forgot about them. They are based on the A.J. Cook paintkit, with a few fixes (slimmer door frame, and correct number of windows) but not 100% perfect, far from it.

This freeware CRJ-200 is not available anymore at the Iris Simulations website, but complete aircrafts can be found at Simviation, like this one by Matthew Miller (Skywest texture), David Hoeffgen (hi-res VC), Chris Evans (package). David Love-Brice from Iris is the original modeller.

But there is a known bug with this model. In the external view, there is a missing cockpit texture and/or mapping error. With MDLMatXX, I tried to darken the cocpit windows, it's slightly better now, but not quite satisfactory... Any tips? Is this fixable with McX?

Many freeware jets have certain issues which lead me to park them to collect dust in the virtual hangar for prolonged periods of time.
This IRIS Bombardier Jet, however, gets regular use in my sim. I especially like the 9H-FED repaint - clean and simple.

    A very nice flyer, indeed.
    Cheers,
    MZee
