Wild Weasel Simulations has released free 10m terrain mesh for the conterminous United States (lower 48 states). Broken up into eight different areas, and you can install all, or just the regions you'd like. Works with P3D and FSX. Feedback is welcome!

I guess this is all about photo real scenery?
Looks like the south west areas are not available (not downloading) for now.
Edit: I tried the Hawaii scenery and can tell of an improvement flying over the mountainous areas with clearer more detailed vegetation.
